Karma

Published 21st July 2026

This musical project took place in April 2024, and was released June 2024.

I had a set of chords I had been dying to use for years. I also had a vision for a deity called Karma to come around and show the general populace how their bad actions will come back to haunt them (in the most charming and lazy way, of course). Eventually, they join the cult of Karma after understanding their wrongdoings and we have a gay old time holding hands and dancing in circles.

After recruiting my friends - Libby as Babs, Moon as Rodney and Emma (DOP) - we shot this in about two hours and had a hoot doing it. At the time, I had been hyper fixating on accessibility in music videos and what that could look like. I studied very basic BSL and implemented this in the chorus as it is fairly repetitive, and by accident created cool visuals as a result. Putting them in the corner created this newsreader-like imagery which juxtaposed the cool kid energy and clothing we had on. Almost like vigilantes and protestors in front of a camera spreading the good word: Karma is coming.
